Infosys has issued ‘Intent of offer‘ to the selected candidates. The Infosys spokes person has informed that, they have not really cancelled any job offer. In this process Infosys is justifying their position on records basis.
Now the question is how the intent of offers was being perceived by the candidates and placement coordinator? If in the past Infosys was converting all the intent of offer in job offer, the perception must have been that intent of offer is a job offer. The candidates and placement officer was getting assured after receipt of intent of offer.
After cancelation the perception got diluted. Further candidates who were getting assured and reluctant after getting intent of offer will not stop and they will sincerely try for other options. This will lead to less turn up from the selected candidates by Infosys and it the process they may lose more talented candidates to their competitors.
However the issue which we are discussing is a recruitment process and it is one of the components of being a best employer not the whole thing. Therefore how much weightage it will carry to effect on the best employer image is doubtful. And also best employer image comes with experience felt by the employees working in company after recruitment.
